Happy Saturday! After this week’s blog post, you may have noticed my excitement about Summer. This season seems to spark something in me that makes me feel like a little girl again. Suddenly, I find myself excited to swim, soak up the sunshine, read more, and simply enjoy each day. With the responsibilities that come with being an adult, there seems to be little free time and the concept of play seems to slip our minds. But, the reality is, hobbies and play are essential for our mental, emotional, and physical health.
While many of us don’t have the luxury of spending every Summer day doing our favorite activities, I encourage you to carve out a bit of time each week to do something you enjoy. You might just be shocked with how rejuvenating it can be, and it might even boost creativity in the work you do each day.
Some activities that I am excited about this Summer include tending to and harvesting my garden, sitting on my lounge chair on the porch with a good book in hand, and enjoying life in community gathering around tables to share a great meal.
