Happy Saturday! It was another beautiful week filled with dinner with friends, a few more Pilates classes, and time outside in the garden. Each of these activities fuel me to focus in and do my day-to-day work. I’ve learned that nourishing my body is about more than just the food I eat, but also how I spend my time. I strive to get outside, move my body, and spend time in community whenever I can. Not only do I enjoy it, but I’ve found that it supports both my mental and physical health.
At one point in my life I tried to be perfect at everything: get in the perfect workout daily, spend the perfect amount of time outside, and perfectly plan my schedule so I could see all of my friends. Let me tell you - this didn’t work out well! I was striving so hard for perfection and continually felt disappointed when I couldn’t fit everything in.
Now, I provide myself with a bit more grace and room to adjust depending on how the week is going. If I have had a long day of sitting behind my computer, I will go for an evening stroll outside before the sun sets. If I have been running around doing errands and chores, I will make a plan to catch up with a friend for coffee to rest a bit before I get back to work. While each day and every week looks different, weaving in these pieces of nourishment keeps me going. Take some time to reflect on what fills up your cup and gives you energy. Could you carve out a little time to do more of that next week?

Green pesto chicken wraps
An easy meal option when you are short on time, these green pesto chicken wraps use collard greens to hold in all of the deliciousness. Can I share a secret with you? This is actually my first time including collard greens in a recipe at home! I was drawn to their vibrant green body and brightly colored stems when I saw them on the store. Knowing that leafy greens make wonderful wraps, I knew they would be a great vessel for chicken, pesto, and quinoa. While these are a great option for lunch or dinner, it is important that some of my recipes take little time to prepare. Since we chose to use rotisserie chicken in this dish, it cuts out a big step of preparation, saving you time. I hope you enjoy!
