Happy Saturday! If you read this week’s blog post about gut health, you may now have a better understanding of the importance of diversity when it comes to building a balanced plate. Not only do I enjoy summertime for the warm weather, but also for all of the delicious and fresh flavors that ripe produce has to offer. Some in-season produce right now includes strawberries, raspberries, peaches, plums, cantaloupe, watermelon, cucumbers, zucchini, tomatoes, and bell peppers. Not only does seasonal produce taste delicious, but it is often more budget-friendly because the ingredients aren’t having to travel as far (bonus!). Throughout the summer, I will continue to incorporate fresh ingredients into dishes so we can maximize the nutrients we take in, while ensuring the dishes are saving you time in the kitchen.
